Back in Malaysia, it's undoubtedly inevitable to be having incessant conversation with my family, especially my mum. Of course, love life is definitely on top of the list. Never really that into my love life before, I have noticed the slight change in the speaking tone, conveying the apprehension and desperation that should be starting to bother her thinking that her son is turning 21 soon.
Case 1:
"how's love life? having in gf in Sydney?" Mum asked, feeling quite ascertained that I must be attached.
"too busy for a gf at the moment." I responded, sounded indifferent.
Case 2:
Due to my elder brother's failed marriage, my dad is really careful and particular about the personality, attitude, family background and so on and so forth of the potential girlfriends of their son.
"Your dad is gonna introduce you to his friend's daughter." mum said during lunch one day.
"So what's this?? matchmaking?" I asked, jokingly.
"Just get you a nice girl." Mum said again, trying to assure me how great the family friend's daughter is.
"oh yeh whatever! only if she has a dick!" I mumbled inside, not ready to come out to her.

Parents are getting smarter and smarter. They are not gonna bug you to get a girlfriend anymore, they are doing it in a more aggressive way by getting you one instead. Nice!!!
I am left with two options. One is trying to come up with a plan to make the girl my best friend. Gay guys are good at that aren't we? No matter how bad the situation is, we always manage to get it right back on track :) Another one is to go on a vacation. I am planning to get away to Cambodia. anyone?? hehe.
It just got me thinking, will my mum introduce me to any of the family friend's son after I come out to him? There are quite a number of hotties among them. :)

I'm sure they are a lil' worried, especially bcoz of your brother's situation. My Dad wuz kinda worried when he found out that Sydney had the 2nd highest per capita of gays in the world after San Francisco. (Still dun know where he read it from!) And you are most right about having gal friends coz my close gal friends allayed his fears. Better still if they could have sleepovers at your KL hse.:)
